Have you ever been in a situation where you're just indecisive because you don't want to regret that decision which you're about to make?
But sometimes I realise that making mistakes is inevitable. Sometimes you just have to be a risk taker. Although, you really need to think it thoroughly first and foremost.
I'm just gonna talk about this thing in my case recently (I'll try to generalise it as best as I could). From my case, I now can say that if there's something no longer making you happy, you know you can stop being part of it/doing it/being it/etc WHENEVER you want. Even if you know that you will get judged with negative comments such us your decision is wrong, stupid, and or you'll regret it. They can also hold you back from making a change by saying less harmful words such as, "Why would you give it up? Don't! You are really good at it!"
And even if a half of you is against you. If you're the type of person who doesn't want to disappoint anyone, your friends and the people around you, but you don't feel content about yourself now, and you wanna change something. Forget them go and change it! As long as it is permissible and just hope for the better. The thing is you are not enjoying it anymore. There's no point on constantly doing something you are no longer interested in. Just because you're known for always having loved something, that doesn't mean you have to love it forever. Nor does that mean you have to live up to other people's standards. Nothing lasts forever: your feelings, your interests, your thoughts — they change, overtime.
No one knows your position; how you deal with it, how it actually makes you feel on a daily basis. You might be good at something. But who knows if you're really good at it, but everyday, on the inside you feel under-pressured, down and anxious all the time with all the high expectations bombarding your head because you and some people around you may think that you gotta do everything so well like you always have.
Of course, it is a huge and risky step to make. But hey, it's life. Everything has risks. You just have to make up your OWN mind. The chances are if you take the step, you'll get either happiness or just the same; boredom or even sadness (but at least, you knew you had a possibility of having a better life out of your own choice). Whereas, if you choose to keep on doing the thing that you have no passion about anymore just because you do not want to disappoint people around you, the option for you will only be stress; no chance of self contentment. Yes, you might make others happy but stop being hard on yourself. Love yourself as well as others (maybe even a little bit more). Do whatever is best for you. No matter what. Even if it's a contrary to how yourself used to be known as, because at the end of the day, you are the one who has to face the world, not them.
I know it's easier said than done. But it's time to make up your mind and choose whether or not you make that step. Take the first step, especially when you have a choice. But don't forget to be responsible for it too.
